I'm just not into them.
It's pretty ridiculous really because from about three months out I am counting the days (23 sleeps to go if your were wondering) and making lists about things I want to do and presents I would like. I totally buy into the hype.
For some reason or another I always end up disappointed. It's like as soon as I make a plan it finds a way to unmake its self. For as long as I can remember I have ended the day thinking, 'well that's it I guess...'
So this year I'm making
I'm going to be spontaneous, I'm going to enjoy the company of my friends and family, I'm going to eat cake and have fun. That my friends is about as far as my planing goes.
I'm going to leave my teenage self behind with a new out look on birthdays and life.
I'll get back to you in 23 days and let you know how it went.
Good for you loz. It is so hard not to have expectations on birthdays when you are a birthday lover! I, too, seem to end my days in a similar fashion! You are spesh and I love you to pieces. Keep your expectations low and you can't get too disappointed when Matt Corby doesn't make a surprise guest appearance and the annual birthday cake eating ceremony ;) love you xx
